I’m Chef Anthony Serrano, a second-generation Mexican-American Chef, food blogger, recipe developer, induction cooking expert, and grillmaster. I wholeheartedly believe that everyone can cook! It’s a belief rooted in my lifelong passion for the culinary arts and a journey that began right here in sunny Arizona.

As a renowned chef, my culinary adventure commenced in the bustling kitchens of my family’s restaurant when I was just two years old. The sizzle of pans, the aroma of spices, and the camaraderie of a bustling kitchen became the backdrop of my formative years. Cooking became an intrinsic part of my identity, and I’ve cherished it ever since.

Guided by my father, who is also a seasoned chef, I honed my skills and cultivated my palate. However, my commitment to excellence and my insatiable appetite for culinary knowledge led me to Le Cordon Bleu, where I embarked on a journey of formal culinary education. I graduated first in my class with a Bachelor’s Degree in Culinary Management, equipping me with both traditional techniques and a modern vision of the culinary world.

Today, I’m not just a chef but a multifaceted culinary professional who has made a mark as a food blogger and recipe developer. While I have excelled in restaurant kitchens, my current role as a stay-at-home father, Brand Ambassador, and culinary content creator allows me to explore a diverse range of culinary avenues. My culinary focus encompasses a fusion of Mexican and Italian cuisines, as well as a mastery of grilling, BBQ, and induction cooking. I’m here to prove that creating elevated yet accessible recipes that everyone can enjoy is not only possible but delightful.

In my kitchen, I live by a simple mantra: “Nothing in the kitchen goes wrong. You just have to adapt.” This belief isn’t limited to the kitchen; it extends to life itself. Challenges are growth opportunities, and adaptability is the key to success. I’m here to share delicious recipes and the resilience and creativity that cooking has taught me.

In 2017, my culinary journey expanded beyond the kitchen as I ventured into television. I had the privilege of filming an episode of “Ginormous Food” for the Food Network, where I showcased the finest imports from Phoenix. Additionally, I joined Chef Katie Lee on the Cooking Channel’s “Beach Bites” for an episode aptly titled “Stuffed.” I also participated in a special Chopped Tournament on the Food Network, aired in January 2018. My presence has become a fixture on local TV in Arizona, where I continue to inspire others to embrace cooking as an enjoyable and approachable adventure.

Competitive cooking is also my passion, and it’s a testament to my dedication to the craft. Competitive cooking, or food sport, as it’s also known, has allowed me to push my creativity further. I’ve earned over 60 awards in various state and national food sports competitions, amassing over $50,000 in cash and prizes. Notable among my achievements is my second-place finish in the 2014 World Food Championship. In November 2016, I clinched first place in the recipe category with my innovative dish, “Three Little Pigs Spice it Up in Holland.” This mouthwatering creation featured a homemade bacon English muffin, a caramel apple and jalapeƱo sausage patty, purple potato hash, candied sausage poached egg, brown butter, and habanero hollandaise. My championship win at the World Food Championship garnered over $10,000 and national acclaim.
